Deborah: I first read about it in various industry journals, articles and blogs.

ARAWC: How were you introduced to ARAWC?
Deborah: I first had the opportunity to meet the PartnerSource team and learn more about their business and attended their annual conference. At the conference, I was invited by an ARAWC member to attend the ARAWC membership meeting to learn about QCARE and consider getting involved, so I did! I was impressed with the conference overall and the concept of the non-subscription model as an option. Companies and individuals like having choices.

Deborah: Up to the minute information about legislation that is impactful to the non-subscription market and networking with some of the brightest minds in insurance.

ARAWC allows us to stay current with employers’ needs and the latest policies that impact how they care for injured workers. ARAWC allows us to network with seasoned claim and legal professionals.

ARAWC: Prior to becoming a non-subscriber, were you familiar with non-subscription?
Deborah: Yes. As a service provider, it is our goal to grasp the needs of our customers, to serve subscription and non-subscription workers compensation business, having a clear understanding of the needs and challenges.

Additionally, I have prior experience in the Group Health and Group Benefits insurance markets and am familiar with ERISA, so I fully appreciate the alternative approach to workers compensation as an option to deliver positive outcomes. The QCARE model helps non-subscribers deliver a quality program.
