How did you get introduced to the Texas Option industry?
My background is in education because I am committed to helping people. I found a new way to apply that passion when I came to work for PartnerSource 12 years ago and learned about the Texas Option and the advantages it offers to both injured workers and employers. As the director of marketing for PartnerSource, I enjoy sharing an important message with businesses operating in Texas: Good business starts with taking excellent care of employees. Through the Texas Option, responsible employers are implementing programs that help their workers while simultaneously improving the company’s bottom line.
How were you introduced to ARAWC?
PartnerSource was a founding member of the Association for Responsible Alternatives to Workers’ Compensation – ARAWC – and we’re proud to stand alongside others in this industry to stand up for both workers and businesses.
Tell us about your company.
PartnerSource delivers innovative alternative solutions to workers’ compensation, using three decades of experience and a commitment to quality improvement. Simply put, we design programs that benefit both the employee and the employer by providing better medical outcomes for injured employees while simultaneously driving cost savings for employers.
As a leader in the Texas Option industry, we are committed to joining with others in this space to serve as advocates and innovators, always pushing for the opportunity to make life better for injured workers and their families.
In addition to our work with ARAWC, PartnerSource supports Kids’ Chance to give children of injured workers a chance at a better future. We love to sponsor the annual Kids’ Chance Conference and the annual Kids’ Chance of Texas golf tournament. I enjoy golf, so my colleague and I played in the tournament where I won the “closest to the pin” award! It is such a great experience, and I’m proud to be a part of it. I’m honored to work alongside others at PartnerSource who care just as deeply as I do about giving back. We’re also involved with supporting Metrocrest Services and are getting ready to do another drive to support that non-profit offering wrap-around services for our neighbors in need.
How has the QCARE designation helped businesses with operations in Texas?
The QCARE designation allows a company to communicate its commitment to its workers. When a business meets the ten requirements of QCARE, that business is saying to the world not only that they care for their workers, but also they have a plan in place to follow through on that commitment if an employee gets injured on the job. Once the plan is in place, receiving the designation is free and the application is easily available online. All of this further demonstrates our industry’s commitment to improving the lives of those who are injured on the job, and the business of those employers who care. I think it’s a great thing, and I’m pleased to be associated with ARAWC, which administers the designation.
What benefits have you seen so far from being an ARAWC member?
Advocacy and education are incredibly important to me as benefits of being a member of ARAWC. I appreciate being a part of a community of people who want more for workers and for the businesses who employ them. Most of all, I appreciate how our shared objective ultimately benefits thousands of people and their families. As a mother and wife myself, I understand how a company treats its employees ultimately impacts those at home, too. This is for everyone, and I’m proud to be a part of it.
